The Capital Hill Residence designed by Zaha Hadid Architects is located on the north-face hillside of Barvikha, Russia, within the pine and birch forest where the trees can reach a height of 20 meters. The programme of the villa is divided into two components: one merging with the hillside, another floating above the ground with dynamic views overlooking the forest.
On the first floor the main entrance holds three concrete columns which intersect the main roof, introducing slices for skylights and a double-height space. On the ground floor, the indoor swimming pools and entertainment spaces compliment essential living, cooking and dining spaces.
