Nicolas Tye Architects is an award winning company that pushes the very boundaries of design to create timeless and inspirational architecture. This is exactly what Nicolas Tye Architects have done. The 2,200 square foot Long barn has been transformed into an elegant studio that rests comfortably against the rolling hillside of Bedfordshire.
Central to the philosophy of Nicolas Tye Architects is that design is generated by the needs of people. The first floor enjoys the glory of the original roof up close, whilst certain areas of the ground floor open expansively upward to create generous spaces. The south facade features a series of ‘pods’, also clad in larch, that contain a library, reprographics area, toilets and meeting room. The office design within considers every aspect of modern working life and the demands of today’s worker by incorporating a magnificent, yet practical use of space and design. Take a look!
