META-Project, a Beijing based research-practice studio has recently completed ‘Huludao Beach Exhibit Center’ in northeast china. META-PROJECT engages in interdisciplinary practice of architecture, urbanism, landscape, and interior/exhibition design to promote mixed value of contemporary architecture.
The new facility offers a natural resource that is so rare across the north of China due to its climate – “the beach”, which attracts millions of visitors from Beijing and Northeast-China to spend their summer here. Only 100 meters from the crashing waves, the building provides an exhibition area, cinema, meeting rooms, gallery, cafe/bar and playing fields to support the activities of the beach-goers and activating the city’s cultural life.
