
Bates Masi Architects completed the Genius Loci Residence, a beautiful, charming home which incorporates a clever mix of traditional and contemporary architecture. The residence is located at one of the highest elevations in the town, surrounded by green pastures. The versatile nature of this site allows it to be experienced in a variety of ways.
Located on one of the highest points in Montauk, the residence was formerly a horse ranch. It consists of two separate buildings connected together with a bridge, with lots of open spaces and terraces. An exterior entry stair that directly connects to the interior stair also provides as an entry to the house. One can enter beneath the bridge and up terraced planter steps revealing the rolling hills and ocean in the distance. The vast area of space offers boundless potential, while an outdoor swimming pool and courtyard prompts relaxation and comfort when wanted. Enjoy the pictures below:
