New York based architects Diller Scofidio and Renfro in collaboration with International practice Gensler have recently proposed the design for a modern, state-of-the-art medical and graduate education center in Washington Heights. The 14-storey building features tech-savvy classrooms, medical simulation center, advanced learning facilities, auditorium, operating rooms, collaboration spaces, student lounges and cafeterias.
According to the architects “Study Cascade” is the basis of design strategy, which enables the student to learn and practice medicine in the 21st century. The 14-storey tower will hopefully get the LEED Gold certification. The construction is expected to start in early 2013 with a scheduled completion in mid-2017.
